New Zealand is probably my favorite place. Before ever visiting I wanted to move there. When my friend and I graduated from college, we decided we wanted to go bike touring. It took us a little while, but we decided on New Zealand. Since we didn't want to hassle with visas it set our maximum tour at 3 months. It wasn't long enough to see all of New Zealand, but it was long enough for living in a tent.
Yosemite National Park is another of my favorite places. Above is a view of Half Dome with snow blowing off the top. This was taken in early March, 1995. I hear that even now, in early September, the waterfalls are going strong. I haven't hiked up to the top yet in '95, though I plan to go with some friends the weekend of October 7th and 8th to hike Half Dome again.
This is a view of Vernal Falls, from the Mist trail. This photo is remarkably similar to one taken by Ansel Adams many years earlier, especially if you have a monochrome monitor. The falls are on the way to Half Dome, though when this photo was taken, the mist trail was closed because of the danger of rockslides.
