Henry Coe is a rugged state park in the Diablo Range, just East of Morgan Hill, CA. It's a great place for hiking, exploring and mountain biking.
My first visit to Henry Coe was on a backpacking trip. My then wife and I backpacked into China Hole and spent the night. The next morning, we had a terrible time trying to make pancakes, they kept burning, so we turned to fishing for food. I think the fish enjoyed watching us in our predicament. They didn't end up as lunch.
My next trip to Henry Coe was solo. An overnight mountain bike trip to get away from it all.
Going to Henry Coe, for a trip of any length, by your self isn't the brightest thing you can do. Henry Coe is a wilderness park, and lots of things can happen to you that leave you stranded without much chance of rescue. Make sure you register you plans with a ranger and make sure you check out with them, so they don't go looking for you after you've already gone home!
